About Feminal Articles

What the Feminal blog is, how it is written, and what it will never claim to do.

The Feminal blog is evidence-led writing on cycles, fertility and knowing your own body. It exists for the questions people would rather look up than ask, and it is written in plain language for readers without a medical background.

Every article is grounded in published guidance from bodies such as the NHS, NICE, the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) and the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA). Where an article draws on a specific source, we name it, so you can read the original for yourself rather than take our word for it.

Just as important is what these articles do not do. Feminal describes, observes and educates. It does not diagnose, treat or prescribe, and nothing here replaces a conversation with a clinician who can see your history. If an article helps you ask a sharper question at your next appointment, it has done its job.

Some articles are written to support features in the Feminal app, such as cycle tracking or preparing for a consultation. Others stand alone. Either way, the standard is the same: say what is known, say what is uncertain, and never dress opinion up as evidence.
